So I have a 15 n13 motor and recently been having clutch issues. At first my clutch brake seemed non existent and it would come back once the truck cooled off. Now my clutch pedal has about 75% free play before the clutch disengages and the clutch brake is non existent. I’m out here in Seattle currently and just got done pulling through mountains across 90 with no clutch slippage so I don’t believe my clutch is toast. I took it in to a TA to see if they could adjust it and they said it doesn’t have any way to adjust it. Is there anything I can do with this clutch or am I going to have to replace it.

I had clutch issues in a prostar once. It got to a point in which at times it was difficult to put in gear. It was a bit of free play in it, but then it got to a point to where there was a bit of smell, Iike burning plastic. Also it would not stay in cruise control. I dont know if you have experienced those symptoms with your clutch, but if so, you'll definitely have to replace it. I think your clutch is showing early signs of wearing out.

I don't have any experience with Internationals but I'm pretty sure every clutch is adjustable. Before mine was replaced in my Pete it acted the same way yours did. I had to let it about 95% of the way out before it would grab and start moving the truck. After it was adjusted it grabs immediately and it feels like there's hardly any travel when you let it out. The clutch brake also took forever to engage.

Your cruise might be cutting out because of the clutch switch, which can also be disturbed by the clutch being out of adjustment. I'd take it to a decent shop and talk to them about it. I've heard bad stories about TA mechanics

The Internationals I have driven used a hydraulic system like a car. I had several where the slave cylinder gave up or was going bad. Have you or the T/A checked to see if your truck is like that and checked the reservoir to see if there is adequate fluid?
