Been seeing alot of negative thread So i figured I should post something positive and why you should have a cb.
A couple days ago I was driving down the road and on the old cb someone told me I had a brake chamber hangin off my trailer so I pulled over on the side of the road and he followed me and help me tie my Chamber up so I could go get it fix.
Point is there are still people out there who will help another stranger out for no reason other then its what you should do
And just in case you wanted to know my brake chamber rust off

Many times having my cb on has saved me a lot of time and helped to avoid danger.
meechyaboy, alds, 650cat425 and 5 others Thank this. -
I pretty much never use my CB, only have it because my company installed it.
Tried to get some useful info in a gridlock traffic situation a while back. I only got people shouting at each other and doing other disruptive things like putting the mic next to their music speakers and leaving it on.
I turned it off, having been promptly reminded of why I never use it.alds, Coffey, Swine hauler and 1 other person Thank this. -
And make no mistake here: I'm knockin' the logic behind your decision, not you or even the decision itself.Coffey, Rubber duck kw and Swine hauler Thank this. -
Hope you’re getting the real lesson in this situation. Instead of listening to the cb radio take note that older trailers need a more rigorous pretrip inspection and a walk around every time you stop.
HoneyBadger67, Coffey and Swine hauler Thank this. -
Yes..... And no.....
things do happen in transit sometimes....rough roads etc...
I think the real lesson is to avail yourself to all the tools in your "toolbox" .....eyes and cb among many others.... -
Sorry to hear that, hand.Coffey Thanks this. -
Swine hauler Thanks this.

A visual inspection of my entire outfit takes only 5 minutes, and I do it every time I stop...no exceptions. Keeps you tuned in.
I have to add another 5 or so minutes to check my livestock, but that's just what my job entails..650cat425, Coffey and Dale thompson Thank this. -
IMHO the walk around is just as important as pretrip. A leisurely pace is best look listen smell (ok maybe the smell thing won’t work with a livestock trailer) all the senses can alert you impending problems.
650cat425, Coffey and Swine hauler Thank this.
