Go hug a tree. Black bears in that region are not an endangered population. They harvested the animal as all responsible hunters do. That's makes them no more a monster than you buying chicken meat at the grocery store.

I don’t think a bears paws would allow him to pull a trigger.

Hey, I'm HAPPY for anyone that is busy and can get the best rate they can, in whatever way works best for them!

Everyone has to do what works best for them. For me, I've made it clear that I don't want to chase loads all over the country, at least not right now.

That could change. But for now, I'm not going to try and compete with guys who are running for less than what it cost to operate a truck.

Besides, my wife really is really nagging me to organize our 3 car two story 1,800 sq ft garage LOL

You’ll miss 100% of the time if you never swing.

I was hoping that that load had to be picked up today, you know, one of those get it covered no matter the price kinda deals.

Convoy had that load posted for $1350, some fool took it for $1600. I’ll almost guarantee you it could have went for north of $4000.

I hunt, and support hunting, but no where near as much as when I was younger, just don't have the time. I made myself a rule a long time ago, with the exception of rats, fox, coyotes, coons, ravens, starlings and other varmints destroying my livestock & crops, that if I don't plan on eating it, I won't shoot it. Also, if the wild critter eats meat, carcasses and other dead stuff, I don't hunt it.

Now some guys swear bear meat is outstanding, could be, I never had the inclination to try it. A good friend of mine, former game warden, now passed on like most of my mentors, once told me that with bear you want to get it skinned quick and remove the fat quick. He said some guys don't do this and it taints the meat.

Even our hogs are fed a strict vegetarian diet, and we've never had a problem with our sows consuming their young...

    p608 and TallJoe Thank this.
