WHERE IS EVERYBODY!!! There hasn't been a post from anybody in almost 2 weeks. Did CFI close their doors or is everyone at home and not working? It seems like just because Rooster retired everyone else went with him.

I am still in "stay at home" here in Winter Haven, Fl. The wife and I do our 6 month doctor visits next week then we leave here for our "road trip" in the 5th wheel. Going to Hendersonville, NC for a month then Greeneville, Tn. From there to Crossville, Tn and Nashville, Tn.

We are going to Ft. Campbell, Ky to visit our daughter and son-in-law who just completed 20 years in Army. He is retiring as W3 Blackhawk pilot. Then on to Seattle, Wa to visit our son and daughter-in-law. Our son is 17 year Senior Chief in US Navy. It's hard not seeing your children.

Finally we'll head back towards Florida for the Winter in Avon Park. Who would think after 45 years on the road you would still be driving in your retirement years? Life is good.

I hope everyone is safe and healthy and life can get back to normal soon. Take care everyone.

Good to hear from you Pop. I have told people that I am going to see some of the places I've been driving by. Moab Utah, the Alamo, Mt. Rushmore, Pike Street Market in Seattle. I have friends that own a vineyard near Ashville. I did a 34 up there and sampled some of his award winning stuff. Couldn't take any with me for DOT reasons. Now I will go back and bring home a couple of cases.

Just to name a few...This year I am settling into my routine and quarantine and all that. We will cross paths out there I bet.

Hope everyone staying Covid Free... I sure don't want to catch that one again!

There's a truck stop by Rushmore. Well it has a giant lot. It is by the sawmill plant.
I asked the lady at the counter she gave me a free drink and dropped the trailer go see the heads.

I remember that sawmill because I spent five minutes destroying their wheel chock buried under loose shavings.

....I just thought it was typical tag axle difficulties up an incline.

Guy holds it up and laughed at me yelling good job!

That load also went to Waco...
    ....
    ....
    ....
    Eww.

Well old Dominion reached out to me yesterday and I'm waiting on a call back sometime this week to get into now details on what they offer as a company for drivers. My mentor told me it's a really good company to work for and all that jazz so fingers crossed I might have a good opportunity

Amazing opportunity! An old Dominion driver is actually the reason I started considering getting into truck driving. We actually considered them too when we were talking to R&L.

    Ultratowel,
You will not be disappointed working for Old Dominion. They are a top notch company, have very good equipment, pay is excellent as are the company benefits.
Will you be working out of the Orlando terminal? They also have one up in Ocala. Good luck and I hope all goes well for you. I also think that you are either a line haul driver or city driver or dock worker. Some of the other freight companies make you do both. Have at it driver.

An R&L guy about took off my steer tire if I didn't brake for him. Was riding the ### of the truck in front of em waited till the last second so he could do the .5 mph passing thing.
    Was a team truck.

Decided to do the ole go 5-15 not smoothly mph slower than his governed speed for the next 30 minutes.
Oh boy was he pissed when I kept slowing down and speeding up.

Go take that guys job. :)
I hate those guys and Averit the most around here.

Getting my 34 in Leary, TX just before my delivery. Always feels good to have a fresh set of hours before starting a new load. Opens up more possibilities. Though running these 10.5 hour driving days are killing me.

RoadRooster and Cerberus XVI Thank this.
