I am supposed to leave for training at Werner soon and when completed be put on Midwest Regional.

I don't really feel qualified after graduating truck driving school, but I guess we will see. I think it was a mill. They pretty much trained directly to the CDL test. If it wasn't on the test, we didn't really go over it. But perhaps thats what the trainer will do. Teach me to drive a truck for real, not just pass a test.

Anyway, my question is, when I am put on midwest regional, is it REALLY midwest regional? What does that even consist of?

Also, I was told I will be out 6 days, home 1... Is that true?

    Thanks.

Well chances are good youll run anywhere they have freight. You should be on the trainers truck long enough to get the basics down 6-8 weeks, that is unless youre on one of the $ accounts.

Thanks, is it true I will be home every 6 days or is that recruiter lies and wishful thinking?

Why call it midwest regional if I will run all over?

Well, if you get a trainer on a dedicated account you'll get to his home every 6 days lol. if not you could be out the whole time. its the luck of the draw really.

When I was with WERNER I opted to stay the full 300 hours of drive time. Which lead to about 7 weeks. I was fortunate to have a good trainer and we were 48. Make sure you keep in touch with your SDM and also once you get in the truck with your trainer call driver placement and see what options you have for placement. Might not have an option at first untill getting close to the end of your training, but keep trying once a week. Just keep in good communication. Good luck. Im local in the area now and enjoy nthe hourly pay compare to mileage pay. By far the hourly. and home evry night.

I will train 48. AFTER training, I was told I will go into Midwest Regional as a solo driver.

Is it true that you get home every six days or is it ########?

Iam on the midwest region how are you guys gettin home every week ?i have to fight to get home every 2.If you have to do 300 hrs dont worry you 'll get alot of practice cus most of the guys I talk to arent getting off trainers trucks for 3 months or so cheap labor is the reason ive heard. If you have any more questions I just got done with training been on my own for a couple of months and I live in Mi..Troy area

Werner has hourly pay? What division is there local hauling?

Unless I find a different company to go with by next week (just applied to Schneider & Bulkmatic), I will be in Werner orientation and plan on doing the ironman and getting the 300 hours out of the way in one shot, I hope they dont jack me around about assigning a truck or loads to haul.. one of my concerns was being used as trainers "team" member and getting screwed out of mileage pay and a truck for long past the 5-7weeks of "training".
