Don't wait too long. The fan hub bearing is not designed to run constantly. If you wait too long, you will have to buy a radiator as well,650cat425, InTooDeep, Rideandrepair and 2 others Thank this.

Here's how I look at older trucks. They need to be cheap to the point that putting 15-20k into one gets you a mechanically pristine, reliable truck that won't give any major issues in 12-18mo of running. In that time the truck should more than pay for itself and maintenance and still be good for another long while.
I think 17k for a Classic that "needs some stuff" is about 5k too high. I'd don't mind having 30-40k tied up in a truck, but it has to be as close to 100% reliable as possible.tommymonza, 650cat425, Dale thompson and 2 others Thank this. -

Any truck that's put on the fleet has to run on elog. If someone's been there for a long maybe they'd let that go. I doubt it. They are very tough.Linte_Loco, 650cat425, WesternPlains and 3 others Thank this.

Just put new radiator and fan, but it’ll run locked in forever. Years, don’t ask how I know. LolLinte_Loco, 650cat425, WesternPlains and 3 others Thank this.
