Hey everyone I know it’s hard to work when work is limited but I advice you not to take cheap rates for what ever your hauling your risking your life and potentially can get sick but these brokerage company don’t give a ####. Stop making payment on your trucks and insurance and sit home do not run for cheap. If you are running for cheap don’t by running for cheap other brokers see what there competitors are moving stuff for and they also post for loads for cheaper rate. Stay home and watch these rates sky rocket not everyone has to run as long as majority of us stays home it will have a significant impact.

Ive been sitting a month. I will sit as long as I need. People are taking cheap because they have no choice. With no money in the bank they have to do something. So either the broker is on their last leg or the carrier, or both. It’s sad but that’s the cold hard truth. I thank God I caught a few breaks and have some cash to weather the storm. I can’t sit forever but i can sit.

I almost started a thread similar to this one. I have not hauled a load in over a month. My bank put my truck payments on hold for 90 days so hopefully it will pick back up by then. Brokers are low balling for sure. I saw a load from jax to Chattanooga 7 stops $1200. Same broker wanted to ship a load from jax to the Atlanta area 5 stops $800. I don't know who could afford to haul that cheap. If cars don't pick back up I will find a new commodity that may be more essential

Brokers don't set the rates. The truck owners do.

Heck I can remember the days coming out of Oak Grove into Dallas with 7 units for $5k, 1 pick/1 drop was more or less a given. Or Sterling to Wichita for $6k. Drivers today don’t understand that if they’d stop accepting those cheap loads we could get paid a good rate again, but desperation rules the roost.NavigatorWife, Andreybanyuk, 05vnl670 and 1 other person Thank this. -
