I am a 34 yr old male from the Hickory ,NC area. I am an O/O and looking for a long term team driver. Ideally a person who can run a 12/12. I smoke and have a dog. Must be ok with both. I run all 48 states.
I am leased on to Schneider and dont plan on leaving.
Ideal person would team with me till this truck is paid off and then run this truck solo, find another team driver to run with them or I will find another driver to run this truck and they can continue working with me. Ill leave that up to them.
I am easy to get along with.
Im looking for a hardworker who is Sane and competent.
Looking to hire in the next 4 to 6 weeks sooner for the right person.
Must qualify through schneider to haul their loads but will work for an owner operator.

You smoke, you have a dog, your contracted to schneider, probably pick for freight division?
Ok I can accept all that
How long do you stay out?
How long do you stay home?
Where are 34 resets done if ever?
What is pay per mile or percentage?
When is pay day daily, weekly, biweekly?
How is pay handled w-2, 1099, cash, check, dd?

Instead of quoting me, you might want to ask the op. However since you brought it up. Does Schneider even still train?

    Western flyer Thanks this.

Ok so I guess I left alot out sorry.
I do pick freight off their load board.
My wife is my dispatcher she deals with the BOAs at schneider mostly. Between 10pm and 9am I do everything.
Depending on how she scheduals me( she looks for the money).
A reset may have to be taken on the road or may not.
Her goal is to have hometime for a minimum of 48hr every other week.
Pay is weekly when I get settled you get settled.
I did have a friend driving with me 6 months ago. She was a 1099 and chose to get paid percentage.
She wanted to continue advancement in her career in the national guard so she took a permotion and now needs to be closer to her unit. More frequently than I could provide.

So percentage, a salary based pay could be discussed ,or mileage. That would be worked out with my wife / buisness partner.
My wife handles dispatch and Hr /payroll.

My wife will be hiring the person for us. Then they would need to get approval by schneider and go to orientation.
Quite frankly I would love for it to be a recent graduate I was a mechanic In the military and a trainer for a flatbed company, but schneider wont approve that.
It was hard enough to weed through their system to get my friend hired and she has 16 years of driving for the Military and is a master driver or /driver certification instructor. Because she had limited driving in the states and no state side OTR experience.

Once I have 4 to 5 trucks rolling I plan on getting the company its own authority. While I am building up a fleet and making contacts at brockrages schneider has freight.
Im fishing at this point to find out what type of people / drivers are out there and what they expect from the job. To see if that is something I can offer.
I was raised under my grandfathers way of life he saw and treated his employees as family. (He owned a towing company) and this is something I plan on continuing.
Ive always managed convenience stores and restaurants. But trucking is where I am best.
Buisness is easy, stress under pressure easy 1000 to 10,000 customers a day. I just wont do anymore or 90 to 110hr work weeks for months on end (yes Ive done it )
Oh and I try to take a 2 week vacation every year. Which can be split up if co driver wants a week for christmas and a week in the summer or something else. Which is also to be discussed with potentials as that would be a diffrent preference for everyone.

I I don't know if Schneider personally trains anymore or not. I wasnt trained by schneider
But I do know they paid for the place I went to train some of their new drivers. They do have a new driver orientation that last 2 weeks and then you can request a road trainer.

Ahhh youth, I remember it well. Bucks Boys I wish happiness and good luck to you. Your plan sounds eerily familiar to mine 25 years ago.

Although probably sarcastic. The well wishes are appreciated.
If I may ask? Why did it not work for you?
