a double broker just made 20k in April how’s that for fun.

I spoke with him yesterday. So go on tell me how brokers don’t need to be regulated.

sitting at home pretending to have a 20 truck fleet as a carrier then flipping those loads under his brokerage firms MC for a tidy profit.

good job guys keep telling yourselves that brokers don’t need to be regulated like owner ops are.

Edit: forgot to add that I’ve been around him sometimes when he makes calls. The other brokers know he’s double brokering and get kick backs from him, so what do they do? Turn a blind eye.

Yes, we’re sitting temporarily due to a once in a hundred years pandemic. I was talking about normal times and sitting. Apples/Oranges.

Yes, $1.50/mi if you are running under your own authority is just spinning your wheels. Not sure what your point was there.

I don’t have to be happy with tons of new entrants, it doesn’t mean I’m saying they shouldn’t be able to enter. As far as 1099, yes I don’t like this because it’s creates a playing field that is not level. I only ask that people follow the law is all. As far as importing cheap labor, true I’m not a fan. Mostly, because I feel that truck drivers should make about $20,000 per year more then they do. If we keep importing cheap labor this will never happen while at the same time suppressing rates the same as 1099 carriers do.

Im not sure how any of this applies to the government controlling our lives and businesses.

Labor Law, Immigration Low, Interstate Trade Law... it is all in the government hands. Adding a little clause of broker - carrier transparency and their fair share of what the revenue per load ought be is just a little addition to some many already existing regulations. You are in favor of regulating labor and immigration law already. Why not be in favor of regulating broker-carrier set ups, a part of interstate commerce or whatever it falls under? Interstate Commerce is regulated already in so many aspects.

So, 25 years ago you had a brokerage for three months and you know all about them now? lol. Why did you sell it? Too tough? Not profitable?

There are an awful lot of manly men on this thread and this site in general. I wouldn't want to be on the wrong side of a ping pong table across from you.

You're right. You would be a ##### to ask for transparency on all this. Keep rolling your wheels for a buck-fifty. keep all the power in the hands of the brokers, and don't ask a question. Go back to your regularly scheduled propaganda.

I don’t think what he’s doing is legal nor accepted under the terms of the contract? So what makes you think more regulation would stop people from doing it still?

I guess I just don’t understand why people complaining wouldnt just start their brokerage or choose not to do business with brokers?

Especially point number two there. Makes me think people just like to complain or always think the grass is greener.

If somebody else's profits can be regulated so can yours.
