If the shoe was on the other foot would you not be smiling all the way to the bank?
When this turns around and a broker offers you a load for $xxx. Are you going to say that’s too much?

Wouldn't price gouging be when there's no trucks and stuff absolutely has to go and you charge 6 bucks a mile for TP, you guys are forgetting the knife cuts both ways.

Only in times of "emergency". One cannot jump in price from say $1 to $100 because of a flood. One can though always charge $100 for a $1 item if they can.

I did say for the most part. There are regulations, but compared to trucking it's like the wild west.... Anything goes.

The point I am trying to make is that it is nobody's business to criticize those hauling cheap freight. They haul it because they can, and none of you can do anything about it. If you want to stop them, you can only through regulations.

    Absolutely not!!!!!
From other people yes, but one should be free to shoot themselves in the foot if they so desire, as long as they are not allowed any government assistance from i.e. not being able to work after that.

People should 100% be able to do what they want as long it doesn't harms (including monetary harm) other people. And sorry, being a better salesman isn't harming someone else.

I think you’ve got to ask the Dr Phil question, “ How’s that working for ya”?

That’s fair too. But a middleman broker shouldn’t be able to unreasonably screw with one side of the equation

Why regulations? When all it takes is a few months like this to weed out those running on a shoestring.

The problem with your minimum rate argument is that everyone will get dummied down to that rate because that’s what the government says is fair.
