You keep mixing up contract and regulations.
They sure could. There is no regulation against it. And if they enforced said provision they likely will go out of business as no one will work with them. Again this has nothing to do with regulation. It's 100% contract law and "best practices" to stay in business.

Again, what does this have to do with trucking being highly regulated and other fields aren't highly regulated? Or have you gone so far afield you don't even know?

And let’s say the regulate brokers to 15%. So you get $1700 of that $2000 loads. Whats to stop someone from telling the broker they’ll do it for $1500 to get home?

Yes all non competes in the industry should be illegal, or make canceling rate cons without proof of shipper canceling illegal.

Make not paying for delivered loads illegal federal offense not a civil offense.

Make transparent Billings mandatory, this way the carrier has a better idea to take the load or not.

why not give the carrier real power to decide to take the load or not?

Do you not know how much your stock broker makes of of you? your mortgage broker? Your home broker?

That’s their business if they are taking a loss to move it. We don’t have to move it regardless. Click. But we don’t really know what they are taking off the top though do we? Critical knowledge. Is the trucker expected to take a loss for them? Is the trucker expected to live on beans to move it just so the broker makes the same profit he made 4 months ago? Everyone should have the same skin in the game. Trucker takes a trim, broker takes same trim. That’s the least we can expect. Trucker is more important to the economy than any broker.

First you say they can and now you say they will go out of business if they do.

Listen I get the feeling your a broker, your trying to keep your golden goose and I get it. Crap flows one way and carriers are at the end of the receiving stick.

If you are a broker and a legit one then you shouldn’t be against getting rid of these double brokers.

They make zero dollars at the expense of the truckers share? Please explain, since on load ’A’ you don’t know what the broker took off the top.

I don’t want everyone in the country knowing what I make. I don’t want brokers to be able to go to the shippers we work with and be able to see what our rate is.

And they do have the power to decide. Either they can move the load for a profit or not. Everyone’s cost is different.

Why should non competes only be illegal in this industry not all industries?
Cancelation of the load should still get you paid no matter what, a contract is a contract after all.
If they don't pay you after delivery and you don't pursue it now why would you just because it's a higher level crime?
"Transparent billing" is just word soup and is easily hidden and fudged.
You currently have ALL the power and decision whether to take the load or not, because you take a load that doesn't pay enough is nobody's fault but yours.
I don't have a stock broker, or mortgage, or home broker, so yeah I know exactly what they make off of me and it's exactly 0.

Ah that explains it, you don’t want to be regulated but you want to regulate it.

That’s explains it. Your afraid of the free market because you know the free market can put you under.

They make money off the shipper not carrier. The carrier is the one making money off the broker.
