Cobra coming out with a new base IS wishful thinking...lol...but I can see maybe Uniden or Midland coming out with one...Of course if Uniden President does build one, or would only be available in the UK for a year or two before they make it available here.

Well if drivers "should" have whos gonna pay for it ? Doubtful if drivers dont learn about cb related issues now so what makes you think they will about gmrs..Companys now dont want drivers modding their trucks to accept antennas and such now, what makes you think its gonna be different with gmrs??.
For every reason why many dont have or want or study whats needed for cb are gonna be for gmrs....Plus we are not limited on channels as prev mentioned and its free...
You keep barkin up the wrong tree..
Leave it alone and let the drivers themselves decide..Stop pushin your interests on others....
Your are basically a tv preacher tryin to fill your own needs by gettin people to join your lil gmrs club....

If it was so good then cb woulda been dead long ago and gmrs would be as busy as hell...
Praise the lord and the deamons have been excersized..lol..

probably right...don't remember the last new Midland radio unless it was the 75-822...they been leaning more towards business radios and GMRS.

I like "technology" better. Feel free to call it anything you like, however. This is America

So far Midland is hanging in there. I see CB World sells 2 mobile radios, models 1001 and 5001. The 5001 is basically a Cobra 25, but probably no cold solder joint problems that Cobra has. Also 3 handheld units, and an all in one unit built into the handmike. I noticed they been on eBay for quite awhile too.

I remember one of their most popular mobiles was the 79-893, you couldn't find too many used ones for sale back in the old days...

How to apply for your GMRS License! YouTube Video

NOTE: I caught a mistake in the video, it says your license is good for 5 years, that's wrong, it's good for 10 years...

    Enjoy!
