Can I be 20 years old and do interstate none cdl hotshot trucking. The company is in my dads name. I was thinking what if we do team with a dot approved sleeper am I able to do interstate?

With CDL I know you have to be 21 to do interstate but not sure about non-CDL. It would be the insurance that would be more the problem anyway. If everything is in your father's name it might be okay. Good question. That is true you would need a DOT approved sleeper to do a true team operation so you'd be better off just buying a sleeper cab tractor if you want to run team with pops. If neither one of you is really qualified to drive a big truck I would just stick with a 1-ton pickup and show a hotel receipt. You could log on-duty/not driving and still do a little more than a single driver since you'd have 14 hours to drive instead of 11 (theoretically). But again I think the insurance might be the first deal-breaker you'd run into. I am not aware of any age limitations on a regular class C license to drive a non CDL rig though. That might be a bit of a grey area.

They don't need a hotel receipt, they can both be off duty and sleep in the tuck, or anywhere else for that matter.

And yes, driver one drives 11 hours, driver 2 drives 3 hours.

I know I can sleep comfortably in a little truck...done it many times hauling RV's. Two people though, eh. Possible I guess but that doesn't sound very fun.

You two will kill each other in that tiny glove box sleeper.

And no its a combination vehicle it will turn into a Class A CDL as a commercial vehicle.

And the two of you will reduce your cargo weight to less than 10,000 anyway. No money in it.
