If so are you OTR? Dedicated, regional, local?
    What are your thoughts?

Swift is ok if you don't have anything else going for yourself... I drove for them a couple times over a 20 plus year career in trucking. Get out of there quick !!!!!

I used to run for swift local, and regional, local is a real headache if you do dry van and get Merkel lane you got the gravy train. Muskogee you best go top speed as you can because thats a tough one most my times I came within 30 mins left just because the crap they have you do around DFW before heading to Muskogee
The rail yard they want you live I think somewhere near fort worth I think I didn't do it. If you choose them I recommend OTR or regional or dedicated the issues you have from local is crazy might be why people leave the local often lol

Not sure if there is a perfect company but I have run for a handful of companies that were good to me that I have no real complaints about. It’s about finding the perfect company for you. I was just thinking about Swift the other day , they left me stranded. I was on a dedicated account for them and as long as the truck kept running things were pretty good I liked it but those few times the truck needed to go into the shop I was stranded walking down the street , suitcase in hand paying for my own motel until maybe someday someone might fix my truck maybe next week. It’s a lousy company.

So your truck went into a truck yard shop and you walked to a motel. So now they are horrible? This is most companies, if you asked at dispatch many times you might get a ride or at various times of the days a hotel will pickup from the yard. Also many local hotels will pick you up at 4pm or later. If your truck is in shop status at Swift you can either go to window and request funds for hotel or just pay out of pocket and save receipt and get a PO#. You couldn’t Uber/Lyft/Taxi?

Lack of knowledge is not an excuse to hate.

I don't know how to say this but trucks breakdown doesn't even matter the company. The real issue is it a recurring problem and the same problem. If so maybe you need to speak up sometimes the company will switch you another truck if so problem solved. If not leave, I have had a bad experience with many companies so long the pros are still better then cons I will work for them.

My DM at swift gave me a truck a new truck the newest at the time I made sure to do a good inspection before signing off saying it's in good condition. I have found when I did local work for them that in itself was a mess however the trucks would have issues when I got to them unlike previous driver them I refused to drive them if its gonna cost me a ticket if caught or have an accident. 90% the problems I saw could been avoided had the previous driver did a pretrip at all like the one I found with no engine oil apparently it was leaking a lot of oil but the real kicker it was just driven around DFW and went Abilene. I can't imagine how that truck didn't do number of issues to the driver before arriving back but the mech say he ####ed it up for certain. He had one day before putting def in the fuel tank.

I am no rat but you screw with me being sent home because we have no trucks because your lazy butt couldn't do the most basic part your job me and you going old school. BTW local side you slip seat and each department has a set number trucks so if most are broke down you cant use the others that you see sitting around.

    Who said hate ?
Years ago there wasn’t a Uber / Lyft and it was such a small town there wasn’t a taxi in town that I could find.

Swift corporate said you don’t work for us you work for that dedicated account , the dedicated account said no you work for Swift corporate not us.

How long did it take to fix the Swift truck ? To long. Could you tell me how long it will take to get the truck running again ?
    Ah ... ah ... ah ....

I kept turning in all my receipts for my hotel stay ... they will not reimburse.

You mentioned hate and lack of knowledge , seems an odd comment for a truck breaking down. This knowledge that you mention along with hate where do you find them ? How did you get to hate and your lack of knowledge ?
