Some years ago I ran as a second driver with and owner op with them. for close to two years. the reason for the color as is my understanding is because it started out as reliable moving and storage an allied agent then the sons wanted to start carriers and in order to get the allied bussiness they had to somewhat look like allied. when I was with them it was almost all team op o/o and the tractors were traded in about every three years to keep it reliable. just about the time you ran out of places to put on more chrome or stainless steel so it worked out good. the trailers were all company owned.I'm going back some 16 years or so ago. the trailers were heavy I'm sure they have lightened em up a bit by now. we had trouble at a scale coming out of cali with six full sized lexus on. when I ran with them they ran very hard, my first year I was home twice for a total of 3 days combined. but I was young and single and didn't care. It was a blast moving the kind of autos they transport, the shows blow! I liked the ride and drive events and the commercial shoots. and going to the proving grounds was cool to. I tried to get back with them in 95 when I was an o/o with mayflower but didn't have a second driver so they had no place for me
Things change but when I with them they wanted a lot auto exp. they handle some insane expensive autos. not just the rich boy toys. some of the test autos are prototypes and the money that's in them is out there. Kids gone husband and wife teams are the best fit for this as you got to love to live the road. The money was good the o/o I was with said he banked 100k a year that's after all costs, but we were out for 3+ months sometimes more. but sometimes you got lucky and things worked out for extra home time. keep in mind you can't pay that tractor off and expect to keep running it unless you payed for it in full, gotta go get a new one. a lot like air freight tractors. so your pretty much always paying for that rolling townhouse. Oh and you gotta love the truck washes, that's a law. they used to reimburse for trailer no matter how many slips you turned in. I'm sure it's still like that. So there not show offs by any stretch, there rigs are justifiable in as much as to most of them it is home.
