FIrst time reading these posts there wasn't a "More details!" post. Ha.
I would like to applaud the op for using paragraphs. Thank you. Blocks of text give me Forest Whitaker eye.
Good luck in your future endeavors.

TransAm should have never been an option. I had someone reach out to me once they began driving a couple of months back and I heard the exact same stories. I even went so far as to call them, and contrary to what OP believes, leasing is not where the money is. They pay the lease drivers $1.04 per mile, and the truck note varies. They have a 6 month lease for an old truck with a balloon payment, otherwise it's a newer truck and the lease is like 700 or so per week. The funny thing is that they offer a truck availability bonus. They give you 500 dollars for each month you stay out, so it pretty much goes back to them because you'll be in the negative for sure. The only to have a punchers chance is to run well past 3000 miles, and that's impossible. Not many drivers get 3000 miles consistently in this industry every week. They dont go farther west than Colorado so it is even more difficult. It seems impossible to make money there. If lease was the only option, I would have gave up instantly

Looks like Russ McEliot is still doing a great job of screwing drivers so he and the jacobsons can keep living high on the hog.

Unbelievable. It pays to talk to Drivers at a Company, lots of them, weeding through the bs, before picking a Company.
Another Canadian driver Thanks this. -
As for hiring anybody, yea, they are a 2nd chance company. They take people who find it hard to get a job, including drivers who get terminated from other companies for things that make you unhirable to most companies.
Their trucks are definitely junk though. I drove for them for a year and a half and my truck was in the shop 7 times for warrenty repairs, a few times for nonwarrenty stuff, and I think the turbo was going when the warrenty expired so I left.
Didn't have any issues making money but everybody's needs and situations are different.Last edited: May 5, 2020
