Hi guys. I’ve never had this problem before I joined a new company about a month ago.
We use peoplenet eld. The last 5 days my company says I’ve been driving but the time hasn’t been logged as “drive time”. When I’m driving down the highway my eld shows drive.
They said I certified the logs without drive time. It shows me on duty but not actually driving. So I went to check the graph and sure enough drive time is missing. The truck switches me into driving automatically once I go over 5mph. It showed “driving” while I was driving but not on the graph.
They want me to sign some written documents about me falsifying logs. All the time I’ve been driving never had this happen before.
Does this go on you record?
I have another driving opportunity to work for my uncle. Who’s paying .50 cent a a mile to drive from LA to Jacksonville and back every week same customers.
Should I sign the documentation the company gave me? Or quit and go work for my uncle. Who has work immediately?

I wouldn't sign for anything I am not responsible for. If it was a glitch, let them figure out why and how it happened. Again, I would not sign it.

But under no circumstance should you sign a paper saying you falsified a federal document.
Btw, in the future, manually put yourself on drive. Peoplenet is a pos.Gearjammin' Penguin, rachi, Coffey and 13 others Thank this. -
Dude dont sign anything. They are wanting u to sign so u claim responsibility for a computer error for when they get audited. Tell them to shove it , in the nicest way possible.

Like just passing by said don’t .convince them to change the logs to driving. Then get them to replace the eld unit or provide a different trk. It’s there unit that was not complient

They are popping you because you "certified' the log, even though it was incorrect, not because it was broken. Petty - but accurate.
Coffey, gentleroger, deathB4decaf and 2 others Thank this. -
Ask the company how much they pay for a non-functioning log device before you leave.AfterShock, MACK E-6, Coffey and 7 others Thank this. -
