I currently work at Mclane..food service isn't for me..the work is hard of course, but the worst part about it is not having a route and being on call everyday. Hard to have a life outside of work this way.
I worked at AAA Cooper for 4 years as a part time dock worker, so I know how LTL works.
Will a company hire me now or will I most likely have to wait til I make a year of experience?
What LTL company will hire me with 7 months experience?

Suck it up for another 5 months and hope that the economy gets rolling again, you're gonna live by the phone at ANY LTL outfit you get hired to drive for right now for quite a while.

Right now might be a bad time to jump.
But when the economy straightens out, you can go almost anywhere with your experience.

If I had a schedule I could deal with the work. I heard US Foods is Mon-Fri..Sat if you want extra $$$.. I could deal with something like that. But being on call 7 days a week? Doing team runs for 16-20+ hours. Can't do it forever
