Was stuck at a truckstop for a day with only a McDonald’s nearby.
I tried Grubhub for the first time.
Pizza and soda total was $18.
However....
2 lines of fees and taxes
Plus a tip you have to pay beforehand and the lowest percentage you can pick is 20%.
My grand total for the the pizza and soda plus all the fees, taxes, and tip was $39.57.
I held my nose and went to McDonalds. No way am I paying $40 for a pizza.
Has anybody ever ordered pizza delivery to the truck?

I’ll do this very rarely, and only if I’m in an area that has notoriously good pizza. I slept at a customer in North Bergen, NJ two months ago and ordered from a local place nearby called Perfect Pizza. And it certainly lived up to the name, because it was one of the best pizzas I’ve ever had. It was dirt cheap too, only cost me $16, including the $4 tip I gave the delivery driver.

Just about every pizza place has inhouse delivery drivers, no need to use grub hub and pay additional fees.

I've ordered pizza to the truck. Behind security gates in customers facility.
One time told him to offer the security guard a few pieces. I wasn't going to eat the whole thing.
They're usually amused at delivering pizza to a truck.
One time did a fly fishing float trip in Montana. Guy said he had guided truck drivers before. But never picked one up from his truck at a truck stop.Wasted Thyme, kemosabi49 and Tug Toy Thank this. -
I've had Pizza Hut deliver to the fuel pumps at the Love's in Sidney, MT while I was refueling. It's more work to line it up in advance for delayed delivery (ie use the app to place an order for delivery in an hour when you're ~50 miles away; tell them to meet you at the pumps in the instructions), but it saves a lot of time and sure beats the usual food substitutes ("roller grill") available.

For those who don’t know, you can call Pilot/FJ and order a whole pizza. It’ll be ready in 15 min. I’ve done it many times.
I also use DoorDash to order Wing Stop. There’s also UberEats, but they apparently don’t have Wing Stop.HardwareHyena Thanks this. -
I have been ordering online from the Outback Steakhouse lately and have it delivered.

Ordered groceries to the truck stop today via instacart.
Guy got me wrong bread though lolWasted Thyme and PE_T Thank this. -
I've successful used door dash a couple of times. Once while at a receiver on the street outside their facility waiting for a phone call with a dock assignment (shipment was late, not my fault, and it was a work in. So, had too much time to kill). Got some decent Mexican food from a local Mexican food place. And once at a Swift terminal. Got a really good salad from Kneaders.
However, some places, like the place I am at now, do not have Door Dash or Grubhub availability.PE_T Thanks this.
