Fortunatly I havent had one in about 25 years. But I shall always remember the last one. Had me sprawled across my desk in pain. My partner walked into my office and immediatley put me into a car and took my butt to the local hospital. Terrible terrible thing those stones. I hope I never get another one.

This is my 1st, and hopefully my last. My son had a small one last year, but they were able to get his to pass without any invasive procedures. Crazy thing is, for decades I drank diet soda (d.Coke and d.Pepsi) which are very high in sodium, and I never had them. Now, I have now stopped all that and drink mostly water (spring water, not purified water)and I get what felt like Mt. Rushmore trying to pass.

Hope your feeling better SSB... wait till they pull that stint out. That’s not very much fun either... wide awake!! I had Lithotripsy to bust up one stone and the others I passed....
    Worst pain I’ve ever had...3x...
Till I dislocated My shoulder and tore my rotator cuff and Labrum falling down a set of icy steps at a receiver.... I’d take all 3 kidney stones at the same time to never go through that again. 2 1/2 years later and I still have pain and stiffness in that shoulder. Probably never be 100% again...

After my last kidney stone I got popped for a random. Couple days after I took test got called by the people that did the test asking if I was on prescription pain killer. Took a pic of my bottle sent it to them and that was the end of it.

I may need to contact the ER and the hospital to get a list of the meds they used. On my discharge paperwork it lists the scripts they wrote, but I was given 1 morphine shot before I was officially admitted because the contrast chemical they used for the CT scan made it feel like jack the ripper was doing a warm-up...it wasn't until I started blowin chunks in the men's room before they took me back into an exam room to kill the pain..

may not get the stint out. Woke up this morning, made coffee, took the wife's new puppy out for her morning 'chase the squirrel' exercise routine. Managed to make it back to the bedroom before another muscle spasm and shooting pain hit my left side...it put me on the floor...I think I got another stone on the move, so I don't think they'll want it out just yet, just in case.

They really should be able to tell you if you have any more significant stones locked up in there. Kidney stones show up pretty well on ultrasound, if I understand right.

They said I had stones in both kidneys, just can only go so far with their lazer roto-rooter. If they're not in the ureter tubes, then they have to be treated another way. And since they already shoved a tube up there to get the big one, I think they wanted to give my body some recovery time before doing much more right away. He said most likely 'blast' them, so it sounded to me like an ultrasound/sonic treatment is in my future. It sounded to me like they don't prefer that method because it doesn't break them cleanly and leaves sharp edges that add to the pain when they pass

I've had lythotripsy 5 times. Takes about an hour you lay on a very hard table they pump you full of great drugs and they use shock waves on the specific area where your stone is located. Done on an out patient basis. Pretty painless. First few times you go to the bathroom afterwards are not fun but that doesn't last. You pass small fragments of the stone for weeks.

When I had Lithotripsy, they wheeled me out the loading dock of UNC Hospital and into a tractor trailer that had the Lithotripsy machine inside...
It would spend the day at different hospitals...
