I have a 2012 Freightliner Coronado with a 12.7 Detroit(Fitzgerald Glider Kit)....my AC does not work at all. When I had my truck in at a Freightliner dealership for unrelated issues, I asked the tech to test the Freon. He then told me that it was charged and no leaks, the issue is electrical but it will cost more to figure out why it will not run. Any thoughts to help me to figure out why this is happening will be much appreciated

Could be a short in the wiring, or a bad compressor. Check your AC fuse in the glovebox too!

So this is like a $7-$12 part. Went bad on my FLD few months ago. It's a low air switch that keeps the ac compressor from turning on till it sees X amount of air psi. Needs to see air psi so it knows it can activate the engine fan to blow air across the condenser..
Worth a shot to swap it out for just a few bucks..
Edit: When you say ac don't work at all, do you mean blower motor, like no fan or nothing..?Rideandrepair and blairandgretchen Thank this. -

1st, check the ground wire, & all connectors right at the ac compressor to make sure nothing is loose, & all is connected properly.
So my low air switch is located behind the dash. Took out the dash cover right in front of the gearshift stick in the center of the cab. There is an air manifold right there with a few air lines going into it, & the pressure switch that looks like the one I posted above..
There will probably be a few, for low air alarm, parking brake, etc. Might need a wiring diagram to find the correct one.? Or pull off the 2 wires & see what stops working..
Also the high/low switch on the air drier would be the next thing, I'd check.. Air drier is on the firewall, ditch side, or have seen some on the frame rail by the steer tire. Drier looks like this. Switch on top. Make sure is connected, & not corroded. Maybe replace that too.?

Wait, so the ac light, or snowflake symbol is illuminated?
But the compressor still doesn't spin.? Like the ac clutch won't engage..stillwurkin Thanks this. -

Yep, I might had been getting a head of myself. I'm no ac expert diagnoser. LoL Just had a few quick fixes myself & thought they might work for this fella.
If the ac light is on/illuminated, yet compressor clutch not engaging I'm lost..stillwurkin Thanks this.
