    I can vaguely see that.
I imagine many who decided to park it. They are collecting unemployment. That big yellow Landstar truck I posted a pic of on here. He's been parking alot. Not taking many loads.

At wallyworld. They were moving less. Not real bad. But less.

My company. Rates have been too low. He's run me just to give me an income. He makes nothing. I told him to try to get away from that. I'll sit some to avoid us being a ministry. He seriously appreciates it. This weekend I posted he called me. Said rates are coming up. So looking good going forward.

    On the rates coming up....
This weekend.... He's only talking $1.75 or $1.95 a mile. That's all. Not real good yet. But it at least gives him some profit. None of this $1.00 or $1.35 a mile crap.
Yes were driving an old truck. No payments. But there is always something to fix on it. Last time out. Both belts on the alternator went. Cost $300 to have somebody do a road call to replace them. So there seems to be always extra cost. He considers that in cost of running.

EDIT: This job. There is a certain amount that is running for his business. But he has two other trucks doing the same. He has them pretty much worked out to a regular route, routine. One they are happy with. Gives them time off when and how they want. With me... he's working on it. So when I go out. He has the runs planned already to work my way back. Keeps talking to me. Looking at loads. Regular customers. We'll come up with something. I'm enjoying going out and hitting it. Then time at home. No fooling around with 34's on the road.

Should @D.Tibbitt get into that mix, not only will be hit by a meteor, it will happen during a polar vortex induced blizzard.

    3...out OTR/Regional.
He has a day cab and B for local. He usually drives them himself.
He has about a dozen trailers. All dry van. One or two flat beds.

Good deal. Sort of at that transition point with 3 OTR trucks.

    $1 a mile...is not profit. At all.

A few companies have tried that in Chicago with IC's, and it's like...are you aware of the cost of living in Chicago?
