Yea ! What happens if tomorrow am earthquake happens and you and your truck sinks? What happens if her get cancer in your butt and you can’t sit anymore ? What happens if you get blind ? What is going to happen???????????
I pay nothing to no one! , period .
I decide when , where , how much , before someone load my truck.
Ironically, some here preach how great America is and those are the same people working for someone else .
You want freedom? Do your own thing ! .

You think freedom is having to do all the tedious paperwork and foot work involved in getting 100%, but others are happy to give that 10% to get it taken care of, that's freedom of choice. Freedom of choice is all that really matters.

That's the way I do it. I thought about getting my own authority but right now it's just not worth it TO ME. I pay 10% for an office staff and safety department. I don't have to spend MY free time doing the non driving tasks of trucking. Same reason I like to hire a mechanic to work on my truck. I'd rather spend my time doing things in life I enjoy. To each their own. Neither is right or wrong, is whatever fits the person. That's FREEDOM of choice.

Last week , started Monday night . I hauled from Utah to Phoenix empty to Nogales. From Nogales to Bakersfield to Utah finished Saturday.
Total trip $7,300 . With this amount I can live comfortable for another month. If I want to continue working , I would . But if I don’t feel like it , I wouldn’t To me , that is freedom. I choose my area, I choose my load , I choose my price and I choose when to work . And I choose not to pay a penny to anyone .
Freedom to choose? What your boss is giving you for options? Ok keep it up . Good for you .

Why is it when someone is happy doing what they feel is right for them some yahoo comes on here and states that it is not the way to do it.

Dang he said it works for him but you have to feel macho and say he needs to do it your way.

    Opus and Dave_in_AZ Thank this.

Because all they are doing is making another big fish to be bigger. Why do you think big companies get more owner operators? Pretty soon these big sharks will eat alive real independent o/o .
I believe , you either drive for them, or you became independent , otherwise you are making money for the MC holders .

Nope. I’m sorry if I sound like that. But , I said that for the well being of this industry.
You guys know exactly what I’m referring to. Probably for a short term is good to go under someone’s authority, but if you look to a long run, that model of business is not good at all for this industry .
I understand that is not pleasant to do paper work , make
Deals with brokers and technicians and banks , but sometimes we must sacrifice little things for the good of all of us .
I’m sorry if I offended some of you guys.
