have a class a cdl and would like to buy a tractor, but i have know experience. Don't want to get out on the road for 2-3 weeks as a driver trainee.Could i get authority first & be my own broker to find myself work for my truck that i will drive without experience. When shippers do business with a freight broker do they ask for proof that they will be sending an experience driver.

I like your ambition. You're going to make lots of money!!!

Well this maybe a troll post but I'm going to assume it's real.
1st of all this is the worst time in the history of the world to do what you're talking about. Stop dead in your tracks and do some research.
Secondly, before you do anything, see if you can find an insurance company that will even insure you.
If you find one the price of the premium will probably dictate what you do.
I would not be surprised if you found a company to insure you that it would cost maybe $25,000 or $30,000 for the 1st year.tommymonza, PE_T, Western flyer and 3 others Thank this. -
Worry about getting experience by working at a carrier who can insure you.bryan21384, PE_T, Coffey and 4 others Thank this. -
Rideandrepair Thanks this.

Well what I mean is to research the site and learn more about becoming an owner operator.
It is quite a learning curve to start with absolutely no experience.
Not only what to do in certain situations and all the paperwork and all of that, but you really need some basic mechanical skills if you don't have any.
Read the threads on here. People talk about what the rates are. Right now there is very little money to be made if any at all. A lot of guys have their trucks parked.
As far as load boards go I don't think there's any load boards that you can have full access to without an MC number.tommymonza, Bean Jr. and Rideandrepair Thank this. -

Run, forest, run!

The answer is No, the Brokers will only look at your Authority, and see that you’re new. No questions about the Drivers experience.
Western flyer, jbgrim72 and Bean Jr. Thank this. -
tommymonza, exhausted379, Bean Jr. and 1 other person Thank this.
