These two posts say it all. Careful what you wish for people, you might get it!

edit: i would have to think (i’m to young to know) in the days before deregulation most freight moved on contract vs. the open spot market. Imo more company’s need to beef up their sales dept’s and get back to that. For single o/o’s like myself, that means putting yourself out there or hiring somebody to put you out there.

I don’t like the way brokers operate, but that our own fault. We built this monster. I am very lucky in the way i structured my business in that i do not deal with brokers. Most of my freight is one way with high enough earnings to cover the round trip.

That was a good stand, after all.
Can't you see, all of you malcontent people, some positives here?!
    1. Not just illiterate, low life truck drivers making noise and public disturbance around themselves but good mannered citizens making their voice heard at the very top level of Governmental Establishment.

    2. Forget the debate of transparency and brokers earnings' cap. Think about other, less debatable issues that might make a use of this precedence...

    a) Further distortions of HOS
    b) Speed limiters
    c) Increased Auto Liability Insurance
    d) Increased Gross Vehicle Weight
    e) ...think of something here.
    ---------------------
By "malcontent" I am not picking at anybody here in particular. I see/hear a lot of criticism and attempts to ridicule the effort everywhere on social media and Satellite Radio.
Perhaps the effort itself is worth praising...

Regardless of what the core matter of the latest protest was, the very political echo it created, is what should matter the most. Provided that it is not abused and overdosed, this could be more effective from an email spamming of your congressman or senator.

As a proud American, I am always happy to see Americans exercising their rights. If I agree with the protestors or not is merely one person's opinion...

You are correct here. Even if I don’t agree with what they are wanting I’d rather see this than the rolling slowdowns and other Black Smoke Matters type stuff that only serve to irritate the general public.
