It’s probably the same this weekend. Part of it is that they have the locals bring freight that isn’t due for delivery for a while back to the yard - just in case (of what, I have no clue). I’ve picked up loads on Saturday and Sunday that are 500 miles loads that don’t deliver until Thursday/Friday. Even if there is zero room, they still have us do this. Then there are the hanger loads that just sit there for weeks on end, even before the virus struck. It’s a real S show, for sure. Even the locals have no clue what we’re doing in a day. Never know what time you’re getting off. Makes it difficult to have a little bit of a life. We get the first load, once that’s delivered, then we wait 30 minutes or longer and then get the next one, and so on, and so on..... And having to call in to dispatch is a total PITA. It puts us in line with all the OTR calling in, further straining dispatch’s little minds. Totally unnecessary, IMO.
