I just quit R&L after nine years as an LTL driver. I got a nice job with a small open deck outfit and have enjoyed it so far. The owner put me in a 2015 Cascadia and I love the truck except for the mattress. The owner put a new one in but I'm a big guy and I don't sleep well on it. I have temporarily corrected the problem with an air mattress but it's not what I want long term. Any suggestions on an aftermarket mattress upgrade for a cascadia lower bunk?
Hitting the road again, need a mattress

Measure your mattress holder and get one from tuft and needle. Ships right to ur house in a box. Very very nice mattresses. But u will pay for it as well

1) stay where I was at which was 0900 start on a decent bid run but I don't have a straight truck or pup that runs my area so all residential were on me to complete with a 53' liftgate trailer Resi's are about 20-25% of stops.
2) go to night linehaul which is 5 days a week starting 2200-0001 which I don't like, I prefer starting 0300-0500
3) hope for daytime linehaul but that doesn't start till 1000-1200 given my seniority and projected seniority and Buffalo or Chicago 5 days a week.
Didn't really like any of those three options long term, 45 minute one way commute and Service Center Manager I don't like working for. So 10-10.50 hrs a day with commute was about 12 hour day, day in and day out . This opportunity popped up, small outfit, start Sunday evening or Monday morning, 1-3 nights out, done by mid day Friday, money is as good as or better than R&L. Truck goes home with me, no commute, riders OK so wife and kids can go once in a while. Commute and insurance saving is 7000$ per year. Just a good fit that popped up.Redtwin, EuropeanTrucker, dunchues and 3 others Thank this. -
