If someone takes you somewhere, whether in your car or their own, it would not be a lie to call them 'your driver'. I'll not stick my neck out to confirm or deny the veracity of his entire statement, but someone very well could have taken him somewhere.... LoL

Yes it was the ex and she functions as my driver.

    They threw us both out.

That was when they lost two patients. I don't mind the throwing of out, but I did mind the wasp behind that desk who executed that in a very impolite way.

    Hippa is seperate.

For example I signed a form yesterday prior to surgery that says the doctor and his staff can discuss ANYTHING with my ex who functions as my driver and caregiver plus other services at my expense privately. The HIPPA requires me to sign her name and inforamtion and then sign again giving explict permission for the office to discuss me specifically with her.

IF I did not sign that special paper giving release, that office will NOT tell anyone a #### thing about me OUTSIDE of a Lawful Police Investigation with warrant.

This is what happens to people who constantly spew BS. Eventually folks just automatically assume it's more BS even when it's not.

That is false. It applies to your medical information. HIPPA even means that your spouse can't have access to your medical info w/o your authorization.
That being said. They can 'ask' you anything. It's your right to refuse to give out HIPPA info. But it's then their right to refuse you access to the property. So I'd pick my battles carefully.

    Yes.
Have you been sick in the last 14 days?
Have you come in contact with someone sick in last 14 days?
Have you been on a cruise ship or traveled from a cootie factory in last 14 days.

Most customers are just posing the notice that people meeting any of the above are not allowed on to the property. A much fewer customers are requiring every visitor wear a face covering.

Picked a load of potting soil friday. Sun Gro, Hubbard, OR. Temp check, questions, sign here. The only person I came within 10 feet of was the guy with the thermometer. Odd.

COVID-19: Delivery protocols for customer requests
Steps for drivers to take if a customer requests personal information

    Print

UPS is continuing to monitor the impact of COVID-19 around the globe. Some customers are now modifying protocols and policies in regards to vendors at their place of business to include temperature checks, medical-related questions/questionnaires and medical notes.

We have taken a number of steps to provide advice and guidance on how to prevent exposure to COVID-19 and what steps should be taken if a UPSer exhibits any symptom of the infection.

The Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and World Health Organization (WHO) hygiene protocols have been in place since the start of this pandemic. Our drivers are not required by UPS to adhere to these types of customer protocols. If this type of situation arises, we will adhere to the following steps:

    • Evaluate if there are any alternate delivery options (example – deliver to dock area with no customer contact)
    • Drivers can volunteer to follow customer protocols/process
    • Locate an alternate UPS driver in that loop/area and ask if they would volunteer to follow the customer protocols/process
    • In the event a UPS driver is not able or willing to deliver, a UPS management employee will be asked to service the customer
    • Packages can be held for customer pickup at the local UPS location
These steps should be followed in the above order. It’s important we all work together and support both our employees and customers during this global pandemic.

It's a no-win situation. The companies have the right to deny access to their property, so you play by their rules or suffer the consequences.

What would be nice is knowing the shipper/receiver has such an asinine policy in place before you pick up the load so you can turn it down and find a reasonable source for your next load.

I asked a guy doing the whole temperature and questionnaire crap if I could see his medical certification. He had none. If the companies are going to violate our privacy and delay us from getting out of there, the least they should do is have someone qualified to be bothering us.
