Aren't you in Cali though? I know my dad is around that but he nearly qualifies for senior.
I'm 24 and only 3 years experience and mine isn't twice that.

    baha Thanks this.

    they’ll quote $92-9500.
Then they’ll say, “Oh, that lady is new, she didn’t add this, or couldn’t do that.”
Then it goes to $14.5k/year with one trailer.
    $16,280 for two trailers.
That’s with 20 years verifiable experience.
They’ll still act as if you didn’t know how to turn the key, hit the kill toggle switch & push the start button..
Wait trucks no longer have start buttons..
    Or kill switch anymore.

Maybe they quoted you for under 500 miles radius?

About 80/20 going to Mercer or getting authority, I have been researching each for months, weighing the pros and cons and risks. Despite wanting my own authority badly I think it would be best to lease onto Mercer until I have a paid off trailer, can pay off a years insurance and have 20k banked for maintenece fund. Starting with a paid off truck with a year factory warranty will help but there will always be big maintenece and repair costs and even manufacturers warranties can't be trusted.

I told them 48 states but you never know what the guy on the other end enters in the computer until you see the policy in print right.

Sounds like a good plan. A breath of fresh air on this site compared to the amount of clueless folks who come on here starting out with absolutely no plan or prior research done before purchasing a truck.

Did you pull the trigger on that Reitnouer trailer or still shopping around?

Still shopping around, looks like 2014s all aluminum in decent condition are going for about 23. I was hoping to get a better deal but flatbeds don't seem to have as near as steep front end depreciation.

Nevada, for some reason from day one in 2018 my insurance has been around 20k

my 2 years is coming up in 1 month, maybe that will lower it.
