Sorry dude, that's something that comes with life. He can weather it.

I won't judge the op for his actions outside the fact he stated "I have to get the judge to approve travel" which should be his first step before posting anything.

He said he already has a company working with him and they can provide the judge information to make a decision to lift his travel restrictions. Most likely than not the judge will agree to it if the company commits to employment.

I admit I missed your sarcasm. I guess it was because I hear that said a lot. I will stop here because I don't want to get this thread dragged off to the politics forum.

It is so easy to judge. I would have committed a felony I had my chief’s face closer to me .

I’ve not committed a felony. Ever. Misdemeanor, yes. The other day I drove 3 miles over the speed limit. I was over weight on my tandems until I slid the axles. That’s about the extent of it. There’s no little girl going without milk because of my heinous crimes, either.

Well, like it or not, society judges us by the way we live our lives. There’s no getting around that.

Yeah. Exactly And the way society judges us ain't got nothing on how the company that you're trying to convince to give you a chance judges you.

This thread amazes me. Some of you guys sounds like you think OP should get a participation prize, cuz hey. He tried. A dose of reality sucks, doesn't it,?

I would rather try to get a job with TSA than as a commercial driver, if I had convictions if any kind. Chances would be better.

Whether a guy with a felony gets hired or not has a lot to do with what kind of felony it was.
There are certain kinds of felonies that send up big red flags about the applicant and most company owners I know won't touch them.

If the felony is not one that sets a lifetime ban on getting hazmat OR is a single offense that Canada will over time deem the offender OK to enter, the only thing that really matters is the time since. I know several felons, heck one goes into Canada on a regular basis. Time is the constant here. At some point, a felony really is not held against you in general trucking. The thing is getting multiple felonies over a short period of time regardless of nature can crush your chances of getting a driving job for years.

If I was having trouble following the normal rules of society, I don't think I would be looking to get into a line of work with a whole new (to me) set of federal mandates.
