Are you seeing little threads of rubber attached to that outside edge? I’ve had that before and was concerned - but apparently normal wear on brand new tires.

I suggested Chad - he’s very good at addressing mechanical issues before attempting to align. Most shops will align and take your $ without addressing the real issue.

Is it a consistent band or are there scallops?

Your last pic is the most concerning to me.

That outside edge is the tread decoupler. It is designed to combat the cupping wear that is common on steer tires. One way it does that is it is already molded 1 to 2/32’s lower than the rest of the tread and it well wear a couple 32’s lower than the rest of the tread it’s entire service life. Picture looks like the mold flash finally wore off the surface. We call it “foreskin” were I work. That stuff only lasts a few thousand miles before it disappears. What you got going on is totally normal. No worries.

I think it will go away. If it was only one side, or one tire, but all equal wear, good alignment, it’s probably just from new tires, being deep tread having more wiggle in them. As long as pressures good. Decoupling groove designed to prevent river wear, just doing its job. I’ve had new Drives peel like that, actually could smell the rubber when I stopped. But it went away. My alignments off, outside of one steer always does that, more so than yours, when they’re new. For a short time. Then it runs good for 70k, flip tired and runs another 50k or more.

What can be the reason for this?

My bad kingpins cause that on mine, though not as bad, and all the way around, not just 1 spot. That tire may be out of balance/ round. That’s just a wild guess
