    This one is complicated.
The individual who died in police custody, George Floyd was a convicted felon who served 5 years for armed robbery and a home invasion in his home town of Houston TX. He moved to MN 4 years ago, no criminal history there. He was being detained for allegedly passing a counterfeit $20 bill, not exactly a violent crime.
Lost his job as a night club bouncer when the Covid-19 shut everything down.
The police officer largely responsible for his death, Derek Chauvin has a spotty 19 year record with the Minneapolis Police Dept.
So can we list his cause of death as resulting from Covid-19?

No doubt there is a CNN producer giving this extended logic serious consideration.

Active shooter run down by a Kansas military personal with car. Shooter stuck under car. He needed more speed.

I'd buy that person a few drinks!

It took me 3 different news sources to gather that info. The part about him being a convicted felon was always way down the page, if mentioned at all.

It ain’t looking too good for the Minneapolis Police Department.
New surveillance camera footage shows that George Floyd was NOT resisting arrest at the time he was being taken into custody!
Surveillance video does not support police claims that George Floyd resisted arrest - CNN
The officers’ story did not hold hold water!
I was up in the Twin Cities area this past weekend, specifically Fridley,South St. Paul and Hastings. Folks everywhere in that area are outraged-even St. Paul’s police chief is upset about it, and he’s been showing the video to his officers as a training lesson on what to do and what not to do!

55% of people killed by police are white.
The narrative of blacks being targeted by police is false for the most part.

The victim by all accounts was a piece of crap.
He also was not resisting when he first had a knee placed on his throat. Nor was he combative for the SEVEN minutes as he was killed.

Did the cops set out that day to kill a black man. I doubt it.
Did the cop intend to kill him knowing he was being recorded. I doubt it.
Should the cop go to prison for his actions. Ab so freaking lutely.

Bad cops should have harsher punishment than the general public. They are supposed to be professionals.

Just like truck drivers face harsher penalties then regular drivers.

I learned in the 70s and 80s in north Minneapolis that disrespect towards cops there was not good for ones health.

Looks like karma is coming back full circle. Right now,MPD’s credibility is shot to s***. And regardless of the victim’s past-which have nothing to do with the fact that he was choked out for a non violent crime,he didn’t deserve that, especially if he wasn’t resisting.

    Nobody deserves that.

And the fact that the officers involved had previous incidents of misconduct(in which there were lawsuits)is even more disturbing. Those officers should’ve been s***canned a long time ago before things got to this point!
