I travel with my husband and we have a Thermo King 41-8744 Inverter installed. It runs from a 1000W shop vac to microwave, to TV. However — cause I’m a little vain — I have a hair appliance that absolutely will not work. The lights come on when plugged in but it does not heat up. It is 125v and brand new. Any suggestions as to why it doesn’t work. Works just fine at home. Just not in truck. I have run into this problem before and have read, researched and drove myself crazy trying to find an answer. Any ideas??

Thanks to those who respond and don’t laugh at my vanity!!!

Yes you'll need a pure sine wave inverter to operate it.
My induction cook top would not work with my old modified sine wave inverter. But it works great on my newer pure sine wave inverter.
Some electronic devices need a cleaner power source.

That’s what I figured I was going to need to do. Seems crazy that majority of things work but you get a simple little curling iron and it refuses to work! Thanks for the reply and advice!

Hi — do you have any suggestions of a pure sine wave converter to get? Next question — can/does it plug into the inverter already in the truck?

    truckdriver31 Thanks this.

Nothing wrong with trying to look your best going down the road. There are quite a few drivers who don't care about their appearance or hygiene for that matter.... As for your hair appliance, I am sorry never had that issue. Lol my inverter runs my microwave, TV dvd ect..

    Krkapotts and truckdriver31 Thank this.

i wouldnt plug a inverter into a inverter. you pick out a inverter based on your needs. 117v x amps = watts
