    Your pay isn't great for your expenses. The average pay in your area doesn't change this. As an OTR truck driver your pay is determined by the company you work for not the area you live in.

    Ok. Thx. I used to see JCT trailers staged at our beef plants in the north. Though haven't seen them in past few months.

    $850 a week after expenses is not enough to justify taking on a lease. No way! Most any company driving job OTR should EASILY yield that for any driver putting in a half effort. You live in a truck for weeks at a time! $1200 a week or more is minimum to make that worth your time!

    I make $850 a week on 40 hours at my job driving local. Been thinking about going somewhere else where I might make 1200 or more per week, but then I have to be gone from home for at least two weeks at a time. Seems more worth it to just be happy and stay where I am at.
