Yes but the lightest GCWR is a function of the base chassis and axle configurations. The VNX is standard with 46k rears and 16k-20k front axles, hence the base rating. Usually the VNX’s are built with the 20k axles with 16k springs, in my region anyway. Was 500lb weight increase over the 14k I believe from memory, might be wrong. Check on the ride height, I think once you swap out the low aerodynamic front bumper and remove the chassis fairings there ground clearance will be the same, if not the VNX will just have a front spring spacer wedge, it is in the Volvo parts catalog, can be installed on any Volvo front end.
I am not trying to talk you out of the VNX, I do like the VNX. Maybe next one will be a VNX, waiting to see if Volvo will give us an integrated option with more than 500hp.

If you decide to run singles and want the best mileage you may check out the adaptive loading option.

Eh, to me 500hp is going to be a refreshing change of pace since the truck I'm driving now for the company is turned down, not sure to what since I don't have access but I can tell by how it did loaded nearly to 80,000 pounds going through the Rockies last time I was by there that it's way low on power even when it's not running bad fuel in it. As for more power there's always the option of the fifteen liter Cummins, rated as high as 605 horse and ~2,050 ft-lbs of torque

What's adaptive loading? Sounds like an interesting idea

If you do go super single, follow the example of Prime and other companies that are fully super single. You’ll want to invest in the technology to monitor the psi 24/7 or perhaps in some airlines that can self-inflate the tires if they do begin to lose air, say, from a nail. I too will recommend getting a spare tire.

Regardless of whether I do super singles or duals I'm going with a valve stem cap style TPMS system, just some aftermarket Chinesium, if I do go super singles I'm going with Goodyear Fuel Max SSDs since they have the capability to automatically seal up to a 1/4 inch hole in the tread due to a gel rubber layer, won't seal sidewall damage though. I'm not sure how well that actually works and if it's not just some marketing #### but it's good to have nonetheless

If you’re looking for a light truck, look into Freightliner trucks or the Kenworth T660. Throw in all aluminum alloy wheels.

I'm not looking for a light truck, I'm set on the VNX, I'd go with super singles because of improved fuel economy.

I thought you said you wanted the weight savings. It sounds like you fell in love with the VNX.

    —Edit

Be careful with the super singles as they may not necessarily save you money in the long run, especially if you’re a relatively new driver who’s still learning how to properly maintain tires and take care of a truck that can negatively affect tire wear.
