Not defending either crowd, but do you have proof of that?

You know how Freddie Mercury, elton John, and Richard Simmons like to wear flashy outfits, and act extremely flamboyant in order to draw the maximum amount of attention to themselves as possible?

    It's kind of like that.

I think the air ride seat suspension is a great invention. Cant understand letting the air out of seat to sit on floor? Seems similar to going back 60 years in seating.
Looking cool is maneuvering or backing in very tight spaces and making it look easy.

I drive a Ford Louisville sleeper cab tractor.

I have the seat halfway up to be comfortable with the Hendrickson spring ride rear suspension.

The Pete 359 and 377 we have, I’ve had the seat on the floor to clear the large steering wheel in the day cabs. Both trucks are air ride and cab air ride so they’re comfortable enough.

    Coffey and Brettj3876 Thank this.

My western star 5700 only has a 2 inch base under the seat. No air to it I like sitting on the floor more comfortable to me. Only thing you see of me is from the tip of my nose up thru side windows. If you can see me at all. I drive just fine for over 30 years this way. Gear shift thing I don’t understand. I don’t understand wanting to sit in nose bleed section and or above steering wheel with face 10” from windshield. But different strokes for different folks

its an enthusiast thing. enthusiasts have always modified their stuff to make it their own. lifted trucks, lowered cars, etc. etc. to each their own
