Does Landstar train for transition

I know they used to. But, you had to be at landstar like 6months to 1 year or something. You can't just get leased on and train for open deck.

When I was at LS and someone switch from van to flatbed. You had to go to some classes that was a couple days. They also put some limit on stuff you could haul I think at first. You also had to buy all the straps and chains and stuff. They could just take it out of your settlements every week till it was all paid off. Then you had to work your way up to the bigger stuff of you wanted to haul it or step deck. If you had lots of experience you could do oversize loads and anything LS got into wind mills blades hauling when I was their. LS had to buy the specialized trailer. I would guess only their most experience oversize driver could get on those loads.

You can go to securement class in Ft Worth as soon as yo want.

Box to flat is easy. But I dont know about anything else. Or the requirements after you go thru securement training.
