I did grocery over the holidays...why do lots of busy places have one dock, or if they more they're filled with storage trailers?

This place is a big nursing home, they have two docks and guess what? There is an antique storage trailer full of what I assume is junk clogging the other dock has been for sometime.

This nursing home just lets everyone unload them selves, well a big OTR truck those guys don’t really unload them selves. Local guys like my self and my cronies we go to these places 2-3 times a week.

We run in and out and help our selves, but an OTR truck where bills have to be signed and these people are from out of town and far away places like Brampton, Ontario, Canada. Where this guy was from.

He standing there waiting for the home to unload him and there not going to unload him so him and I went inside and I showed him the dock and he had three very short, but long cartons and I helped him drag those cartons off.
Then I said let’s go find someone to sign your bills and we found a nurse-manager to sign the bills.

But like I said to security hey there’s a big truck load truck in the dock with an appointment for delivery you may want to look into that.

People are singularity unmotivated when there's a truck to unload. :)

It like a shovel, no one wants to pick it up.

In foodservice they’d be like “just drop your ramp on the platform by the back door.”

I like to screw with people. Last customer on a Friday, and it's a single pallet that's already on the tail that they can pluck off without setting the ramp up.

Before I roll up the door. "The entire trailer is for you guys".

The growls of dismay to the audible sigh and laughter of relief is always priceless. It's the little things in life like some humor that make the day go by better.

One sign of having a route where people mostly like you is that gag not having the desired effect. ;)

misterG, McUzi, Mike2633 and 1 other person Thank this.

My jokes don't always work. Just earlier I saw a cashier that Publix that I haven't seen in awhile.

Did the usual small talk and I said "looks like we are into riot season already, and I still have my covid decorations up."

She didn't get it and I had to explain the joke along with me not actually having it. Complete flop.
