It is a long chain that has each end going around the stake pocket. Then we put a snap binder up on it. I wish I could post videos but I will take a pic of it and post here.

I would move the first piece of dunnage back to the next stake pocket so you could throw a strap on both sides of the dunnage. Just because that is where you want more friction, the contact point on the deck. Two straps on the center dunnage. And move the rear dunnage to the center of the rear axle so you can use that other winch infront of the axle to do the same. I would alternate the direction the straps pull from if there are winches on the other side of the trailer.

Then throw two straps to fill in the "strapless voids", somewhere near the vertical poles, just to add more securement to make it legal+, and make it look better.

Not saying that would be a whole lot better, but I would feel better doing that.

Yes I do. I thought I was too old to get into flatbed work all these years plus all the regulations to learn about securement seemed overwhelming so I just kept to the easier side of trucking (vans and reefers).

The job I have now is a great way to break into flatbedding because it is the same thing over and over, (roofing tiles one way and treated poles going back the other way). So securement is the same and of course no tarping.

Another giant plus is oftentimes I am allowed to run the equipment to unload my own trailer. Primarily the telehandler forklift types (JLG, Skytrak and Gradall) but one job they were not available so I found a CAT skid loader with forks and unloaded my trailer with that.

Forgot to mention, I did my first oversize load a few weeks back. 9'1"
