Not that I am terribly worried about this, but I wanted to know if anyone has any stories about sketchy or dangerous situations while turning in for the night at truck stops? Is something a person should be worried about when considering a trucker career?

They have driver facing camera in trucks for "safety". So they might see you in your underwear or naked . They have curtains you can close. Truck stops are pretty safe. I never had any trouble. Some places to avoid like Dallas TX or West Memphis AR or Gary IN

Had my fuel stolen once at the pilot on McCarty in Houston.
Full tanks they got.
Pretty common thing in Texas.
Just be smart and you'll be fine.
I actually liked Gary I got offered sex a movie and some drugs while walking into pee. The guy in the bathroom asked me for my pee because he had a job interview there lol. I said ## it give it here. -
Just another quite night at truck stop. They don't even have Ladies of the night anymore.BigDog Trucker and lovesthedrive Thank this. -
The truck stops are the least of your worries. But watch out for the Western Express driver moving into your lane after only getting 3/4 of the way past you. It's a slam on the brakes situation, because she has no clue she didn't pass you. Keep it straight while braking. Afterwards the safety of the truck stop and delicious slice of 4 hour old pizza makes it all whole again.

Call the police that govern the zipcode youre interested in. Ask them about any criminal activity. This is important when buying a house too.
farmerjohn64 and nredfor88 Thank this. -
Brandt Thanks this.
