I load that at Owens Corning occasionally and they finally within the past year or so started wrapping the first stack in a thicker material ( tear resistant ) so that the drivers do not have to smoke tarp it anymore.
Definitely helps keep the line moving getting loaded because of all the safety rules they have, tarping even with just the smoke tarp can be a little time consuming with the harness requirement etc etc.cke, G13Tomcat, FerrissWheel and 1 other person Thank this. -

Hunter Panels in Toole UT wraps thier stuff nicely, and anything below 700 miles is no tarp from them. Then I think like 900 is just half tarp. Been awhile since I have been there.
But I got this stuff from Insulfoam in Aurora CO. And its going to Ogden UT. I don't know what thier distance reqs are. They arent wrapped badly tho. But perhaps the fact that they expect me to cross wyoming they want full tarps, IDK.
Seems all these places are a bit different on that. And honestly it may be a request from Home Depot, im not shure.cke, G13Tomcat, D.Tibbitt and 1 other person Thank this. -
No Tarps!
But ill tell one on myself. This was early on, picked up a no tarp load of these one time. And was admittedly a bit lazy that day, thought id just cross strap the front. Didnt see much reason to cross strap the rear of something that is a glorified marshmellow.
Boy was I wrong, that last stack walked 6 inches away from its buddy. Apparently the wind can get to that last one some how. Cross strapped it and it stayed right where it was of course.
I have never skimped on that rear cross ever since. Learned me a good lesson that day.Last edited: Jun 23, 2020

Unfold it on the ground and hook d rings to crane ..i Wish every place was like that... i usually hate going to gaf but they are the exceptioncke, JonJon78 and FerrissWheel Thank this. -
I mean it is really cool to watch a hundred pound tarp be put gracefully on like a tablecloth.cke, G13Tomcat, JonJon78 and 1 other person Thank this. -
Is that 'really' a thing? Jokes aside; when we hauled rebar, jersey barriers, lennils, et al... the United Precast place.. 'sorda' did the securement.. Yeah, not. Wife was the co 'captain and learned what I never knew. Took two of us to tarp.
Run by the house and get the teenagers to help the tiny wife tarp, if need be.
Told you peeps, it was NEVER for me. Someday I'll figure out how to share pix.
Mad respect, y'alls!
Machines. About time.cke, DeereRunner97, Kyle G. and 3 others Thank this. -
