I was woken up by a woman pounding on my door a few months ago at 2am. I wasn't too happy about getting up to let her out.

I’ve had spare tire stolen, flatbed equipment stolen, tarps ripped, straps cut, even had 2 dudes sleep in my empty dry van before. I’ve been woken up countless times by people asking for money or selling things.

I sleep at customers if I can, rest areas second, random dirt lots third, truck stop last.

When I'm flying solo I like to hit a truckstop for my half hour break, typically it becomes an hour. During that time I get out, do half an hour of cardio, shower, then do a few more miles for a rest area if I can. Fewer distractions makes for a quicker break, and better sleep.

Don't step on the Wal-Mart sack especially if you are wearing flip flops.
