75F60DAF-1A08-4491-97BE-678C2940D95C.jpeg Hope everyone made it home safe for the weekend. My Friday was pretty gravy. Took trap sand to Topeka, came back to KCK and reloaded dry sand and took that to a middle school in Indianola, IA. Bounced 22 miles into Des Moines and got 2” landscaping rock for our yard. Idk about other areas but construction and the like has not slowed down 1 bit in Kansas City. This 2” I brought back we can’t keep. If there’s not salt or clay or anything going up that way they are just bouncing guys to Des Moines to get it. When I got back there were 3 landscaping companies dump trucks waiting on me and as soon as I was setting the bed down and pulling away our loader was scooping it up.

@tndriver how many miles you end up with this week?

@Trashtrucker1707 hows the dental saga playing out?

Hope everyone has a safe relaxing weekend.

@motocross25 i went Wednesday for the crown procedure, for now I have the partial in place, I’ll get the permanent in 2 weeks. Everything feels like it’s going back to normal so that is a huge plus, thanks for asking. My week wasn’t stellar, just got home a bit ago, next week isn’t looking too hot right now either but hopefully things will resume a normal pace sooner than later.

Oh well that’s good things are getting better. Yea when I was turning in paperwork today I asked how next week was looking and they said “busy but it’s a holiday so we’ll see how it goes during the end”. Usually a holiday week is less than spectacular. Hopefully it’s just in town stuff for me, I’m gettin spoiled being home every night.

I thought being home every night was where I wanted to be, then then the fear of boredom of repetition set in. I’m sure I’ll be ready to be home at some point, just not right now. If @tndriver will hold that job for me another 18 months then I feel like I will have found the perfect balance between the road, and being home

Oh I totally agree. We have guys that ALL THEY DO is run from our granite yard, to their “assigned” concrete plant. One guy has been goin 6 miles back and forth for years. Loves it, knows everyone there, hangs out with the batch operator on weekends, the whole nine. Not interested. I found a fine line with being in a coffin sleeper truck. I’m not gone all week, but I can overnight here or there. I can stay in town, then they can kick me out on further jaunts, or like today was perfect. Just different stuff to mix it up. But to each their own. The only thing I miss from when I was OTR with this company, is the ability to stand up in the sleeper, and that fridge was so taken for granted. It’s a pain dealing with a cooler even on a 2 day run. That week in Pratt about drove me up the wall trying to replenish and preserve my precious ice.

Lol it will be here. Even if don’t have a truck they will just order new one. Same happened with me. Got a 2020 with 10 miles last year.

ACE33422-C30E-463E-8750-F9A6ABF4BB9D.jpeg Loading in Orlando this morning and headed for scottsboro Alabama, presuming we’ll probably have Friday off this week so this should be my only round out, it’s a pretty good hike up there though, over 600 miles. I’m ready to knock the last 6 months of this hellish year out and put it in to the history books, safe travels to everyone, happy 4th.

Hey all. I didn’t get notifications there was goings on in here! That’s a nice lookin truck @Trashtrucker1707 I have never driven a Mack. Pretty cookie cutter week here. Takin shreds from KCK to Sedalia back and forth. One more day then it’s a 3 day weekend. I like my job, but I’m ready for 3 days off!

Also @Trashtrucker1707 I’m gonna hafta plead guilty here and say I was being nosey and looking at your companies website. You’re not interested in being local for them?
