So, here is the situation. I am 10 hrs away from my delivery for Tuesday morning, with only 9 on my 70. I get back 10 tonite and 6 tomorrow night. If I stayed where I am now and finished a 34, it won't be done until 5:30 local time Monday morning, leaving me only a couple spare physical hours, the delivery is around dawn(going across Wyoming into SLC) But if I left now and ditched the restart, I would get there much earlier, but run recap the rest of the week (I'll get back decent hours until Fri nite)...if I skip the restart, I will have around 15 +/- on my 70 once I arrive at my delivery tomorrow...do I reset and push my luck across some rugged territory with 45k lbs, or play it safe, get there early and run recap...decisions, decisions.

As bad as you screwed around weekly by those people I wouldn`t sweat it. Finish your 34 and move on.
mitrucker Thanks this. -
The one thing I forgot to mention, the delivery is blocks away from the Flying Pilot (with the Beacon across the street)...and there is very very limited street parking in front of the customer...so I am not sure how ample parking will be if I get there tomorrow afternoon.

Good luck with parking. Ive been to that stop a couple of times and it fills up fast

Well, I decided not to tempt Karma and forego a restart...in the last few weeks I have had 2 tire issues that needed resolved. One took almost 9 hours (at the tire shop), and this last one, who's delay basically used up most of the extra time I needed for a safe 34 on this load. Wyoming was, well, typical Wyoming. Once I crossed Shermin, the wind picked up. The signs said gusts to 40+, but I saw a hippie chartreuse microbus going the other way rolling along at a legal speed(meaning, they weren't holding up any Wylie, Swift, or CRE trucks) it was blowing a bunch of black smoke out the exhaust like it's choke was stuck, and the exhaust was being blown forward around the bus, so the wind was blowing faster than they were driving. Managed to make it to the T/A in Ft. Bridger for the night, mainly because there was construction 5 or so miles ahead, and it was backed up almost to the T/A exit and I didn't want to waste my dwindling hours. Woke up to 42°, then hit a mix of rain and snow by the time I got to the Utah line. Made it to the SLC J, found a safe place to park, and now I wait. Checked my load...for some reason, when I initially picked this load up, I never bothered to look to see how thick my glass was on this load like I would normally do, but once I shut down today, I got in and removed the non-essential end cap covers, and removed my headers and noticed I was hauling 2 and 3 mm glass (6 mm is just shy of 1/4")it's some of the thinnest I have hauled... fortunately, I see no obvious signs of breakage. If it were loaded in Laurinburg, I most likely would not have been able to say that, but since it came out of Ottawa, it's usually secured right.
