OH
My
Gosh!
Well after I made it down to GA, my buddy was under load that he couldn't put off, so he let me borrow his pickup truck to go home until the end of the week.
Now, I've lived at this apartment complex for 6 Years. Back when the economy was good and the place was at capacity, parking was hard to come by and they instituted a parking sticker system for residential spots and guest spots in another lot.
Well years have gone by, the place is at about 2/3rds capacity, parking everywhere. Things have gotten lax and there aren't even stories of enforcement from my time here since the beginning.
Well this morning my wife wakes me up asking if I used her van last night. Nope. Looked out the window, 3 out of 4 of our vehicles were GONE, including my buddies F150!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
LIKE I NEEDED THIS EXPENSE THIS MORNING, and with a vehicle I was entrusted with as well.
So there's no choice in the matter, I have to at least go get it. But they wouldn't release it to me because it's not mine. The owner has to pick it up!
So I'm spitting livid, these guys are completely IMMUNE to this, they get spat on every day of their lives (an interesting life choice this profession), and in the end all they agree to is a faxed, copied, NOTARIZED release from my friend, PPPR.
None of you peope wanted to be in my shoes making that call to him this morning. I'm in complete disbelief. I don't know what I did to deserve any of this.
That was the only one towed due to wrong spot. My wife's van was stickered fine but they claim it was double-parked. My old Ford Taurus likewise was in a guest spot but we don't use it, in fact my wife sold it YESTERDAY for $300 to pay the electric bill, so the tag was expired last month, we had no reason or intent to renew it.
These guys had no idea all 3 cars belonged to the same person and thought it was funny, but did agree to release her van for the "double'parking" free of charge. Big WHOOP. And now I have to put PPPR through hell under load finding a notary today. -
it's another bad week in TX. seems to be allot of them lately but some are worse then others. I've been looking since yesterday too. to top it off I need to get to chicago for a meeting and the freight from here to there is perticularily bad
