I took mine out of 587,
Throw mattress out, then unbolt metal plate, it’s heavy to do by yourself, but it is doable

Why do you want to get rid of all that storage space

Just curious if it's because you hit your head on it? I sleep on mine but it's a little low for my tall self and I smack my head on it all the time.

of course, you are not really gonna get rid of it, right?

you'll keep it in your garage or else where, so when you got to sell or trade in, you can reinstall it?, or at least put it back there?

PE_T, Rideandrepair and D.Tibbitt Thank this.

I took the top bunk out of a '97 FLD I had. The mounting hardware left in the truck made good anchor points for the cabinets I installed across the back of the sleeper. When I sold it I tried to get the guy to take the old bunk too but he wasn't interested so it made it on a dump run.

I would never want mine taken out. Provides almost double the storage space as a truck without a bunk.

    Rideandrepair and D.Tibbitt Thank this.
