    I'm a gambling man.

I'd put my money on a driverless truck making it through Wyoming in the winter than the majority of these human steering wheel holders out here.

How many pileups did they have this winter?

I’d take that bet and raise another bet that a driverless truck with all the sensors they will have on it will be able to back into a parking spot first try without taking off a hood. Maybe even blind side. Of coarse no more goal needed.

It’s the construction workers I feel sorry for when those driverless trucks hit the road.

So much for running with the flow of traffic.
They better have extra heavy duty brakes.
You think we get abused by 4 wheelers,
Wait till these 4 wheelers keep getting stuck behind
These trucks doing exactly the speed limit all
    The time.
    There gonna go freaking crazy.

I’d like to get a few of those myself. Wonder how many one Dispatcher can handle?

They will have a better engine brake then current diesels and it will give more mpg.

    It is very simple how.
You generate electricity when you want to slow down by reversing the function off the electric motor(s).
The conventional brakes you only use for emergency or times when you need to slow down faster then the electric engine slows you down, like red lights,........
    Trust me it works.
    How do i know this?
I have a new small electric car .
I drive it old skool trucker style .
That way you use 1 pedal nearly the whole time.
The brake pedal is hardly used.

Hate it or love it,change is coming.

Going to be funny if this happens because railroads will go extinct that what they get for lobbying for HOS.

I don’t think it will hurt railroads one bit. The driverless vehicles could easily communicate with a rr crossing to slow or stop They can be programmed to communicate with a loco. The rr’s can still move a mile of double stacked freight at one time. They can go crewless too. They already have that capability.
All driverless vehicles are gonna communicate with each other and get along and flow flawlessly. No ego’s and emotions making each one gotta be first like majority of humans. If all the vehicles are doing the same flow down a mountain or highway they have no need to pass and one lane will be for trucks only finally. Lol
