YRC has a dock to driver program also.
    Great benefits as well.

Good point. Even though he already has a cdl, but no cdl school certificate; that program is good and worth trying for.
Lynden Transport in Houston also has that program.
Address: 1417 E Richey Rd, Houston, TX 77073
Drive at Lynden | Lynden Inc.

Teloma started with Lynden Transport as a warehouse worker in 2015. In the fall of 2019 he entered into the Dock to Driver program and graduated in spring of 2020 after training on Lynden’s dock, yard and behind the wheel. Teloma says "I want to thank everyone for giving me this opportunity, and I am very happy to be a driver."

Doesn't UPS have a program similar to that?

My nephew's son went through that program with UPS. He's driving now.

What strikes me as strange, is that they put OP in the program to be trained.
Shouldn't the company have done all verification BEFORE OP started the program.
Even though the megas don't run final checks until you show up for orientation, they seem to find most issues with applications within the first few days.
How long was OP in "school"? Any issues should have been brought up in the first week.
I'm not a lawyer, but it seems to me OP was put through a training program for which he/she was not qualified, according to that company's standards. Problem is proving they ignored, or delayed, checking on his/her employment history, knowing OP would have to re-imburse the tuition.

Get a lawyer. One avenue you might explore is whether or not the company received federal money for "training" you. If so, contact your representative's office or your state's attorney general's office. See if they can do anything.

So you went to one of the worst options in the country for getting your CDL and now they are screwing you?

    Who would have thunk it?
