I have 11 months. Estes is hiring, kinda hesitant.

Per Title 49, Subtitle B, Chapter III, Subchapter B, Part 391, motor carriers have to investigate 3 years of employment history from the date of the application. The employer is ALSO required to ask for 10 years of employment history, although they are only required to investigate at a minimum 3 years of that information.

They may not call and ask "hey, is QuotisFiya a good driver/eligible for rehire" etc. but they will HAVE to make contact in some form to verify information that they are required to.

QuotisFiya's employer is going to know he has coals in the fire elsewhere, no way around it.

3 - 10 yrs. is the minimum, but companies can be as stringent as the want to be.

Never inferred that they wouldn't check with his current employer. Like I said, Sometimes companies upon your request will not contact your current employer until it is pretty much a done deal. You might be lucky.

Maybe with smaller companies that don’t have complex hiring systems or ones that don’t contract out to companies like HireRight. Idk how lucky one can get with a national LTL carrier

I wouldnt count clean harbors against you because it was a lay-off. And You went back to the same company twice which means they were willing to hire you back which is a good sign. I say go for estes if you want. Worse they can say is no. Just dont leave your current job in the meantime.

People make such a big deal out of 'job hopping', as though its a bad thing to try and achieve the best job/pay that you can get. To me its just a tool of control that the trucking industry tries to put on drivers to make them stay in the same junky job.

Thank God that such a law did NOT get passed. This would have really been the beginning of the end of freedom as we know it.

God bless every American and their families! God bless the U.S.A.!

Right. How about the companies ( Not all but some) that lie to drivers just to get them in the driver’s seat. Shouldn’t they be held accountable?

Stop applying to megas and Estes should hore you job hopping isn't as bad as these steering wheel holders play it out to be state reason for leaving better opportunities if you get an interview you technically only left 2 jobs and just state that the previous jobs offered you a better life estes pays well so they will think you'll stay there which you will

I got the job for regional combo driver didn’t really like what I heard as you're known as a fill in driver. I got the job a day after the interview at 11 months experience but then a week later I didn’t get it bc I didn’t list my speeding ticket on my application prior to my CDL from 2016 lol I filled it out with my phone while otr with Schneider. Either way Covid 19 got in the way probably would have been laid off I was offered the job late in late February.

In the past, I've been known to muddy the water that way by putting applications out in a scattergun fashion. If you work for a large enough corporation, sometimes the folks that handle employment verification are a few layers removed from local management, and occasionally those two branches don't communicate well.

I'd go for it because I believe in "nothing ventured, nothing gained", but Estes may reject you out of hand if they require you to have 12 months experience and you have 11 with 4 different employers. Things like that can occasionally make hiring managers a bit jumpy about your future prospects. Bringing on a new CDL driver isn't free for the company hiring.
