Eww. Squish. I can promise you it wasn't a pretty scene. I watched a liveleak video of a woman on a bike being crushed by a big rig overseas. Her head went under the tire and her brain popped out like the pit out of a cherry. Nasty.

This is why I personally have a policy of never moving my truck with anyone next to it for any reason whatsoever

#1 rule if you don’t see them get out and walk around the truck to make sure you see them!!!At Least walk to the back of the trailer look down both sides, underneath the trailer and the catwalk...

I go through a gate nearly every day where I'm in the left lane and outside trucks are in the right. They do a temperature check on everyone coming into the facility, so frequently there will be a guard next to the truck on the right when I pull up. A couple days ago I noticed that one of the girls went over to the truck on my right to check his temp and get paperwork, then I had my temp checked and handed over my paperwork. My guard said go ahead, and I asked, Where's the other gal? I couldn't see her. Just then she popped up in front of my truck.

I guess my point is that if you're driving a truck, you're responsible to make sure that everyone is out of your way when you start moving again after stopping, even if it's only for 15 seconds. You have to work at it to make sure you know what's going on around your truck.
